Cairo-Dock / GLX-Dock 3.0 has just been released!
So… what’s new in this version? The main changes:
The taskbar has been greatly enhanced.
The Log out applet has been rewritten, now allowing you to switch users.
The control of the dock from the keyboard is now very powerful:

  1. When I have mutliple instances of same app, and try shortcut+num, nothing is shown. Tried to enable compiz scale effect but still no luck. This effect does not work for me on Ubuntu 14.04. Although on Linux Mint 18 scaled windows are shown.
    Thanks for great video!

  2. I used to use synapse which I think uses zeitgeist. When my laptop broke i bought a cheap low spec HP computer, first time I buy a computer using amd and not intel processor. Unfortunately linux OS I've tried don't work good so haven't been using Ubuntu or Linux Mint in about half a year.

  3. not really much to compare, if u have to worry about performances and memory, then u shouldn't be using any dock. Use Cairo dock if u want to have alot of tweaking options like compiz, Docky if u want it simple

  4. Yeah without compositing cairo-dock pretty much sucks. With compositing though it is by far my favorite. Actually, the only dock I have found that works really well without compositing is wbar. All of the rest have keep behind window type issues.
